The coat of arms of Alūksne is one of the official symbols of the city of Alūksne. Approved in 1925.
The shield of the coat of arms depicts two crossed swords on a purple background, with a black-covered book with gold fittings placed on them. The book, which is the first Bible translated into Latvian, has "A.D.1689." (Anno Domini 1689) written on its cover, which means "In the year of the Lord 1689" in Latin. The Bible was translated by the German pastor Ernst Glück, who lived and worked in Alūksne. The swords symbolize struggles of various times.
