Finishing: hemmed edges with carabiners or a tunnel along the shortest edge.

The Livonian flag (Livonian: līvõd plagā) is the national symbol of the Livonian people. The blue color symbolizes the sea — the foundation of the Livonian people's life. The white color symbolizes the sand of the shore, which the fisherman sees from his boat at sea. The green color is the forest, visible behind the shore.

The flag was consecrated and first raised on November 18, 1923, at the Irbe parsonage (Mazirbe). Livonians celebrate this day as Flag Day. In honor of the flag's consecration, the Livonian poet and cultural figure Kārlis Stalte composed the song "Plagā loul" (Flag Song) with music by F. Mihlhauzen. The flag was officially restored on November 26, 1988, on the day of the re-establishment of the Livonian Union (until February 20, 1993, the Livonian Cultural Society). However, as early as 1969, a group of Livonians participated in the centennial of the Song Festival in Estonia with their national flag.
The Livonian Union also uses an emblem in the colors of the Livonian flag as its official symbol.
