The coat of arms of Alūksne city is one of the official symbols of Alūksne city. Approved in 1925.
On the shield of the coat of arms, on a purple background, two crossed swords are depicted, on which a book with black covers and gold fittings is placed. The book, which is the first Bible translated into Latvian, has "A.D.1689." (Anno Domini 1689) written on its cover, which translated from Latin means - "In the year of the Lord 1689". The Bible was translated by the German pastor Ernst Glück, who lived and worked in Alūksne. The swords symbolize struggles of different times.
