About Smārde
Smārde Parish is located in the northern part of Zemgale, in Tukums Municipality. It borders the cities of Tukums and Jūrmala, as well as several neighboring parishes. Smārde boasts the Milzukalns nature park, lakes such as Kaņieris and Valgums Lake, and a rich cultural history – ancient manors and historical sites. The parish was first mentioned in 1253, and part of Ķemeri National Park is located here.
